SUPERIOR - Superior homeowners are getting an extra reason to smile this holiday season. For the second year in a row, the property tax rate for Superior residential and business properties will decrease.

Mayor Bruce Hagen says it's the result of city departments and operations have holding the line on expenditures, managing their budgets and providing direct services without budget overruns.

He also says the assessed value in the community increased by 2.7%, which allowed for the reduced tax rate.
