DULUTH - The suspect held in St. Louis County pending charges of an alleged "hate crime," or fourth degree assault, was released from jail Wednesday.
Randy Bauer, 19, was released from the St. Louis County Jail but remains one of the suspects in an alleged assault over the weekend at a gravel pit party with several Proctor High School students.
The 21-year-old victim said he was attacked by a group for being gay.
The Sheriff's Office will continue to conduct interviews with some of the estimated 50 people at the party.
Formal charges are expected to come through by the end of the week.
