DULUTH - Nearly 200 people walked the Duluth Lakewalk on Saturday morning to raise money to help those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.
The Minnesota Teen Challenge held their Second Annual 5-K Walk-A-Thon today.
They aim to raise awareness by letting those who are suffering with chemical dependency that the surrounding community is there to help.
“We have graduates of our program, we have family members and then we just have general supporters of our program, kids and families are out here today, we do have some of our former students and possibly future students here with us, you never know, so we have a wide variety of individuals walking,” said Event Coordinator Abby Shirley.
The organization offers both a long-term and short-term program for men and women who need help.
