DULUTH - Local teens with Teen Council, a group focused on sex education, say poor student body image can lead to severe health problems.
That's why on Friday at Harbor City International School, volunteers organized a benefit for "The Emily Program" - service helping women with eating disorders.
Ticket and art sales will directly benefit their cause.
"Treating an eating disorder is really expensive and it's often hard for people to get around insurance issues. So hopefully we'll be able to start a scholarship for someone who needs treatment,” Teen Council member Emily Hall said.
The organizing group, Teen Council, is a peer education group through Planned Parenthood.
