DULUTH-Police say two suspects who shot at a Duluth cab driver are at large after a Sunday morning assault.
Around 4 a.m. in the Central Hillside neighborhood police report two suspects demanded money from the cab driver who is now being treated for injuries at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center.
The suspects were last seen running East, away from the intersection of 1st Avenue East and 8th street where the scuffle happened, police said.
The cab driver picked up the two suspects in West Duluth. While dropping them off, one suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money, police said.
The second suspect started to choke the cab driver, police said. When the driver broke free, the suspect with the gun ran after him and fired a shot, police said.
Although the shot did not connect, the suspects then caught up to the cab driver and took an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Duluth Police are following up on several leads. Department officials encourage anyone with information is asked to call 911.
