DULUTH - Students at UMD are being reminded of how to stay flu–free while they make their way back to campus for the new semester.
School officials sent a notice to all students that explained the benefits of coming to campus with a flu–shot and how to stay healthy once they are back.
Health officials say campuses can be an easy place for the illness to spread.
"Students who live in dormitories, who live in apartments and houses and houses in fairly close proximity to one other are certainly at a little bit higher risk for the spread a contagious illness or infection," Director of UMD Health Services David Worley said.
UMD sent out similar notices in 2009 during the H1N1 outbreak.
