UPDATE: Lake Country Power Works to Restore Outages

GRAND RAPIDS – Line crews are making progress restoring power for Lake Country Power members in the Grand Rapids area.
More than 11,500 co-op members were out of power following a severe thunder and wind storm Monday, July 2.
Crews have restored service to more than 4,000 consumers since the storm hit Monday evening.
Crews are cutting their way into roads and through right of ways to access poles and equipment and will be working throughout the week until service is restored.
While progress has been made in the Grand Rapids area, another severe storm system blew through today and caused more than 2,000 outages north of Virginia.
High winds caused outages near Lake Vermilion in areas near Ely and Cook.
In addition to the Grand Rapids outages, the co-op has crews assigned to address the today's outages and will restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
