ST. PAUL - With lawmakers getting calls left and right about the Vikings stadium bill, it's becoming clearer its fate is now closely tied to another piece of legislation.
Republican Sen. Julianne Ortman (R-Chanhassen) called Gov. Mark Dayton's veto of the GOP tax bill a slap in the face to Minnesotans.
Republicans say it would've given much-needed tax relief to businesses state-wide and create thousands of jobs.
They say the veto could cost Dayton swing votes for the stadium.
"The governor just burned what may have been the last bridge in working with lawmakers at the capitol,” Chanhassen said.
Dayton says Republicans’ version of compromise is when he does it their way.
