The Annual 2016 Whistle Stop Marathon is right around the corner, happening October 15.

Currently, course officals and volunteers are busy preparing the Tri-County Corridor where the race takes place. The course is very user friendly, with a slight downhill gradient along the way.

Organizers say Ashland is a beautiful area to host this popular event, because it's a small town feel, all while hosting a larger race.

Last year, turnout was spectacular, along with the fall color and temperatures.
