Focus on Health: Acupuncture to Improve Fertility

If you have trouble conceiving, months can become years.  Now, more women are turning to ancient Chinese medicine for help, with beautiful results.

When Duluthian Rececca Katz Harwood wanted to get pregnant she thought the calendar might be her greatest challenge.

"It's interesting being over 35.  I felt like that was actually more stressed to me about this is going to be your obstacle in terms of getting pregnant."

But, in reality, stress and physical issues kept conception at bay.  Having a history with accupuncturist, Heidi La Bore Smith, when two years passed without conceiving, that's who Rebecca turned to for help.

Less than a year later, she was pregnant.

"I really feel like acupuncture not only helped me get pregnant, but it helped me stay healthier during the pregnancy."

Because as Heidi says,"It's not enough to become pregnant.  You have to keep the viability of the pregnancy going."

But, the situation was different for Duluthian Caro Linn.  She had no problem conceiving daughter, Piper.  It was when she didn't immediately get pregnant the second time that she sought Heidi's help.  Heidi discovered a two–fold probable cause of infertility.  Nursing piper had zapped Caro's energy and nutrient supply.

"In addition to that, within nine months after having Piper, I did two Ironman triathalons."

Caro's body was spent.  Accupuncture and herbal foods were prescribed.

"It was amazing.  Within two weeks, my other issue was cleared up and the next month I think was pregnant."

"When we are able to access the total body in a way that it's used to working, which is movement, then the body takes the input of the needle and applies them in its own wisdom to create balance."

Something to keep in mind is that acupuncture is not going to help you get pregnant if your problem needs surgical correction.
