DULUTH - Two people were sent to the hospital after a U.S. Postal Service van collided with an SUV.
The accident happened at 9:35 a.m. Thursday at 19th Avenue East and 1st Street.
Police say the 63-year-old male mail carrier ran a stop sign and crashed into a 29-year-old woman's vehicle.
"I watched the mail carrier vehicle going the opposite direction. A Nissan came up and drilled it from the side and the mail carrier tipped up and flipped over completely," said Justin Grotberg, a witness.
The mail carrier was cited for failure to stop at a traffic control device.
Both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries.
