DULUTH- Umd's Center for Economic Development recognized several entrepreneurs and business owners from the Northland today.
The 22nd annual Joel Labovitz Entrepreneurial Success Awards were given out to recognize business owners who have taken risks, dared to dream, but most of all, invested in contributing to this region.
Rebbeca Splengler won the Environmentally Engaged Entrepreneur award.
She said, "the future of business is sustainability. If a business wants to stay in business it must learn how to manage and project for savings and you can project for savings when you install or replace inefficient technologies."
Some other winners include Bent Paddle Brewery, taking home the Entrepreneurial Vision award and our very own Mayor Ness took home the award for the Business Person of the Year.
