DULUTH- Hoards of fans cheered on their favorite...bus drivers!
The 27th annual bus rodeo kicked off today at the Heritage Center, in Duluth, Saturday morning.
The event is a fun way for bus drivers to show off their skills, but mostly to prove their commitment to safety.
DTA director of marketing, Heath Hickok said, "because safety is something that impacts our bus operators on a daily basis. Our number one priority is making sure that the passengers who ride the DTA, ride the bus safely."
There are 12 obstacles that test accuracy and timing.
The first place winners from each category move on to the national competition.
Paul Mattson from the DTA took 1st place in the Large Bus division.
