Byron Man Injured After Being Thrown from Snowmobile

NORMANNA TOWNSHIP - A Byron man was injured after he was thrown from his snowmobile on Saturday.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the 46-year old driver was traveling with a group on the North Shore Trail about one mile north of Normannna Road when he reached an icy corner on the trail.
According to police, his helmet slammed into his chest when he hit the ground causing him to suffer from chest pain and possible broken ribs.
The snowmobile received minor damage. No one else was involved in the accident.
