DULUTH - Duluth Mayor Don Ness can stay in his top seat for as many terms as he wants, with the right number of votes of course.
The city's Charter Commission voted down a proposal 11-1, which would have limited the term for mayor and councilor to two years.
Eli Miletech was the sole charter member behind the proposal.
Mayor Ness said it was a political move.
Either way, even if the charter passed the measure, the city council would need a unanimous vote to pass, or the measure would need to go to the voters.
