DULUTH - CHUM has launched a major fundraising effort to help bring new emergency shelter to homeless families.
It's a new facility in downtown Duluth that being built within a bigger low-income housing project.
CHUM says the $1.5 million expansion is crucial for the Twin Ports.
Last year alone, CHUM provided emergency housing to more than 1,000 neighbors, including a record 75 families.
$267,000 has been raised so far. Donors are needed.
