DULUTH - A new enclosed parking ramp at the Duluth Airport was approved Monday night by the Duluth City Council. The vote gave the approval of $3.4 million in bonds for the Duluth International Airport to build a parking ramp.
The airport will pay back the city from its revenue generated from the ramp over the next 16 years.
The three-story enclosed ramp will provide nearly 400 parking spots with a skywalk leading to the terminal.
"It's going to strengthen the airports brand from a customer service perspective,” Duluth International Airport Director of Communications and Marketing Natalie Peterson said. “So it's really going to be an enhancement for our customers to have an enclosed parking ramp."
Construction will start this December and take about 10 months to complete.
