DULUTH - Community leaders in Duluth team–up to gather clothes for
those in need.
The Damiano Center, in partnership with Leadership Duluth, have
come up with "The Clothes at Work" program.
The program began in 1999 as a way to help low–income
individuals who are looking for work or who are currently employed by providing
them with work appropriate clothing donated by the community.
"This is often hard for individuals who are getting
into work for the first time or who have low–income jobs where they really need
that income to provide for their housing and their food," said Krista
Mulcahy, assistant director at the Damiano Center.
From April 22nd through April 26th there
are five locations accepting donations throughout the city: both the Republic Bank’s
downtown and Miller Hill locations, the Duluth Police Department, Sheraton
Hotel, and at the Northern Mechanical Plumbers/Contractors Association.
