DULUTH - Some people simply take out their pocketbooks for a typical fundraiser but for a group in Duluth, they're putting on their dancing shoes.
The Rex Bar inside Fitgers turned into one big dance floor as people raised money for three different organizations, including Bethany Crisis Nursery, Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf and Zumba Love Volunteers, a group of dancers who are trying to make a difference in the Twin Ports.
“I know there’s at least 60-70 people which is a fantastic group of people. It’s been nothing but fun and lots of energy. I suppose on a Sunday afternoon, what else do you do,” Melinda Vandervieren, a Zumba Instructor and organizer, said.
Organizers said one person even walked in and donated $200.
