SUPERIOR - Dozens came out to Barker's Island Saturday to take a stand against abuse one step at a time.
The 12th Annual Walk and Run to End Abuse 5k raised funds to support the Center Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse services.
“It is more than just a fundraiser. We do this right before October, to kick off October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. So, in addition to raising funds to support our services, we also like to create awareness in the community about the services that we had and the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse,” Erika Leif, of CASDA, said.
CASDA is a non-profit organization and is in its 25th year.
