DULUTH - The late wintry weather is not such good news for the City of Duluth.
City officials said graters, plow trucks, salt and sand are all ready to go for this weekend’s snow, but also said the city is over budget for the 2012 fiscal year.
“Our expenditures this year are above normal for the amount of salt and sand that we needed. So we had to shift around some things in the budget. So we’re hoping that the temperatures stay warm, like they are predicting tonight. And mother nature does the melting for us,” Kelly Fleissner, of the City of Duluth, said.
Officials said there is salt sitting in docks, and more can easily be ordered if needed.
