DULUTH - The first-ever Aquathon series kicked off Thursday in Duluth.
It's put on by the Duluth Running Company.
Racers swim 1K in Lake Superior followed by a 5K run on Park Point. The difference is there is no bike race.
"For tri athletes, this is a great way to get out and get some training in, but it's a fun race for people who don't bike -- who want to try to just swim and run. So, it's a really good introduction to a triathlon," said Clint Agar, owner of Duluth Running Company and organizer of the races.
The next races are July 18 & 25 and Aug. 1.
