Duluth – Students from the University of Minnesota Duluth are pitching their ideas for a new trail.
The students have been working all semester on a community based learning project for the section of the Lowell-to-Lakewalk trail that will pass from UMD through the Mount Royal Complex.
Each group had seven minutes to present their vision for marketing, redesign and trail direction, while focusing on the needs of locals in the area.
"I think it's really wonderful when our UMD students get to think about their part in this community,” UMD Associate Art History Professor Jennifer Webb said. “Also to think about the way in which bike and pedestrian trails are transforming Duluth and our reputation nationally."
The group with the best design got extra credit.
