DULUTH - Cleaner water was flowing for people in Ethiopia Friday thanks to the generosity of Northlanders.
Crystal Taylor, with the Rotary of Duluth Club 25, recently got back from donating $50,000 to help fix water wells in the country.
It was all thanks to not only the Rotary Club but also the Proctor High School DECA students.
"[The students] chose clean water projects because we have such an abundant resource of clean water. We are so fortunate that they just wanted to spread that wealth and help other people on the other side of the world," Taylor said.
Taylor went to Africa with the Global Team of Local Initiatives, which is a non-profit that helps indigenous people adapt to social, economic and climate change without upsetting their traditional culture.
