ASHLAND - A new office to educate people on the effects mining will have on northern Wisconsin.
The Penokee Hills Education Project recently opened its doors in downtown Ashland.
It's the new home of the Mining Impact Coalition, a group that was established to protect the Bad River Watershed from mining.
In March a bill relaxing mining regulations in the state was signed into law.
Within the next month Gogebic Taconite will apply for exploration permits to mine in the region.
