SUPERIOR - Northland colleges and universities have partnered up to create more internship opportunities for students.
The University of Wisconsin-Superior, The College of St. Scholastica and The University of Minnesota-Duluth hosted a free workshop, along with the United Way of greater Duluth, called 'Connect with Campus' in Superior Tuesday.
The first annual event was created in response to a demand for help starting and maintaining internships.
Non-profits and local government agencies were on hand to connect with students.
"We have a great talent pool in our community. We have three incredible universities with talent. So, any way we can connect, that's why we named the event 'Connect with Campus,' so the agencies can feel really comfortable in knowing who to reach out to on each campus," said Kathy Pykkonen, director of Career Services at UWS.
The schools hope to make this an annual event.
