DULUTH - The U.S. Coast Gaurd spent five hours on Sunday searching for a possible boat crash reported at McQuade Harbor, just outside of Duluth.
Officials said the Coast Gaurd, along with St. Louis County and even some good samaritans started a search of the area after reports of the possible crash came in just before 8 p.m. that evening.
The caller reported they had seen a boat speed past the harbor, disappear into the fog, then heard a loud bang.
During the search authorities didn't find any debirs indicating a crash had occured. After running checks on all the vehicles in the harbors parking lot, they found the owners were accounted for.
With no signs of a crash, and no one reported missing, authorities called off the search.
