SUPERIOR - Wisconsin legislators met with local leaders Friday to discuss problems caused by synthetic drugs in Northern Wisconsin.
The Last Place on Earth saga across the bridge in Duluth has been a cautionary tale for Wisconsin's legislators and law enforcement.
Officials gathered with members of the community to discuss current law and the effectiveness it may or may-not have in combatting changing synthetic formulas.
"So, we want to make sure that we are equipped properly in regards to what the law needs to be to prevent loopholes that would otherwise cause a similar problem here that we see in other cities and states," Superior Mayor Bruce Hagen said.
In 2011, a law banning possession, distribution, and delivery of synthetic marijuana was signed into law.
