CULKIN - One man is dead after being struck and killed at a Culkin rest area.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident happened shortly before 5:30 Wednesday night.
The vehicle which struck the pedestrian then left the scene and a trooper later spotted a vehicle matching it's description heading north on I-35.
The vehicle would not stop and fled.
After a chase, authorities say they were finally able to catch the person and make an arrest.
Officials from the Minnesota State Patrol, Carlton Co. Sheriff's Office, Proctor Police Department, MN DNR ENFORC DIV St. Paul, and Hermantown Police Department all assisted in the matter.
Authorities from the Minnesota State Patrol say more information will be released later today.
