DULUTH - The event was such a hit, that it outgrew its venue in its first year.
So, in year two, the Pizza and Wing Showdown moved from The Depot to UMD's Kirby Ballroom. More than 20 national and local pizza and wing vendors were on hand to vie for the title of best pizza and wings in the Twin Ports.
"So often it's expensive or whatever to get something to eat. This is $5 to come on in and taste the different vendors and give a chance for the people of Duluth to taste the different wing sauces as well as the places in town," said Merry Wallin, general manager of Townsquare Media.
An estimated 500 people packed the place tonight. Best wings for the second year in–a–row went to Grizzly's, while Farley’s took home best pizza.
