ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota businessman says he's running for governor as a Republican.
Scott Honour revealed his plans Wednesday in an email and simultaneously launched a campaign website for the 2014 race.
The investment banker from Wayzata started several businesses and has no previous political experience.
Honour says he wants to bring ''results-oriented conservative leadership'' to the Capitol.
In a campaign video, he criticizes incumbent Gov. Mark Dayton for lacking leadership and says both political parties in St. Paul lack vision.
He says Republicans should push for cuts to state government rather than just slowing the growth of spending.
Honour is the first Republican to launch a campaign for governor.
Dayton says he plans to run for reelection.
