SUPERIOR - The spirit of the Old West was in Superior Saturday.
A total of 57 shooters, made up of 18 women and 34 men competed at the 3rd Annual Wisconsin Fast Draw Championships.
It wasn’t just about speed, you also needed accuracy.
“We’re playing for some guns, some nice buckles that you get, and basically, the bragging rights of being the champion of Wisconsin,” Lori Adrihan, the 2012 women’s champion, said.
“It’s the people, it’s the dress, it’s the love of guns and trying to promote a safe, fun sport, safe-handling of firearms,” Kat Mattson, a competitor, said.
Winners from today’s event get an automatic ticket into the world championships in October.
