SUPERIOR - Wisconsin state business, academic and scientific leaders are all in Superior for a big two-day conference on emerging technology.
The tech-savvy event is being held at UWS as a way to link ideas with entrepreneurs and investors.
Students and faculty of the UW System are also highlighting groundbreaking research and technology development that could end up in a new product for a Wisconsin company.
"It's very important for people to understand our campuses - smaller campuses - are engaged in cutting-edge research and that some of that research will be translated into products," said Maliyakal John, PhD with WISYS Technology Foundation.
A group of experts were also on hand Monday to talk about patents and protecting the ideas of students within the UW System.
