ASHLAND - After months of protests, the city of Ashland now has synthetic drug regulations in place.
During a special meeting Monday night, the city council passed a licensing ordinance similar to Duluth and Superior.
Councilors also passed a nuisance ordinance making the use and distribution of synthetics illegal.
“If community shows support for something, I think your elected officials and your public service are more likely to act quickly knowing they have support,” Ashland Mayor Bill Whalen expressed.
JC Moon is the only head shop in Ashland.
Mayor Whalen told FOX 21 Tuesday the business has not applied for a license to sell synthetic drugs.
