ST. PAUL - Governor Mark Dayton has signed a new bill that changes the makeup of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board.
As a result of redistricting the board does not comply with current law which states that six of the board members have to have 50% of their constituents in the taconite assistance area.
The new bill changes that threshold and only a third of their constituents have to live in that area.
Now the board will only have nine members, eliminating three citizen board member positions, so that it now consists of five representatives and four senators.
