DULUTH - Grandma's Restaurant in Canal Park is going German all in the name of Oktoberfest.
A keg tap marked the official kick off for the 38th annual event Tuesday.
The restaurant will be transformed into a German wonderland, including the menu, with authentic food like Schweinschnitzel, German Bratwurst, the Sauerbraten Dinner, assorted German breads and homemade apple crisp.
Authentic beer is also on the menu.
Grandma's will be serving up Spaten Kegs, a specially brewed German beer served in 4 flavors (Lager, Optimator, Weiss, and Oktoberfest), some with original recipes over 400 years old.
The restaurant's president said the best part of the event is the reunion.
"It kind of implies that the locals kind of take back Canal Park and it's kind of a celebration of coming home and enjoying all that is yours," said Brian Daugherty, president of Grandma's Restaurant Company.
The festivities run through Sunday.
