ASHLAND - An Ashland home was destroyed by fire Saturday evening.
Lt. Tom Walters of the Ashland Fire Department said the fire at 123 22nd Ave. West was reported at 5:18 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames venting through the roof, and the home was about 75 percent involved in the blaze.
The occupants of the home were not inside at the time of the fire. Crews were on scene for about 3 1/2 hours; one firefighter suffered a minor injury.
Walters estimated the damage at $200,000 to $250,000. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
Firefighters from Washburn and Mason assisted the Ashland Fire Department.
