WAUSAU - Ashland County District Attorney Sean Duffy has won the Republican Party's endorsement in his northwestern Wisconsin congressional run.

Duffy's campaign said the 7th District Republican Party endorsed him Saturday with 84 percent of the votes.  Dan Mielke, who was the party's endorsed candidate in 2008, got 16 percent.

Duffy and Mielke are headed to a primary election in September.  The primary winner will presumably go on to challenge incumbent Democratic Rep. Dave Obey in November.

Obey has not announced whether he'll run again.
