BURNSVILLE, Minn. (AP) -

The Minnesota State Patrol says two people died when a police chase that started in Apple Valley ended in a crash in Burnsville.

The Patrol says both the fleeing driver and another motorist were killed in the crash that happens just before 8:30 p.m. Monday on Dakota County Road 5 near Williams Drive, just south of Minnesota Highway 13. The Patrol says police officers from both Apple Valley and Burnsville were involved in the chase.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office identified the individuals involved on Thursday. The driver was 22-year-old Matthew Vogel, of Bloomington, and the other motorist was 39-year-old Aida Letica Sevilla Ocampo, of Burnsville.

Xcel Energy says the crash toppled two power poles, cutting electricity to more than 300 customers int he immediate area. Power was restored several hours later.
