DULUTH, Minn. -

The City of Cloquet received grant funds to help low income home owners improve their homes, and has 10 slots left for people who want to apply.

The assistance comes in a form of a 70% grant. Home owners would have to match the grant with 30% of the total cost of improvements that can be paid with a 3% loan to the city of Cloquet over seven years. Possible improvement projects include fixing defective plumbing, heating, or electrical systems. Remodeling is not allowed.

The grant is from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Small Cities Development Program.
