DULUTH, Minn. -

A group of locals is hoping to bring light to something they say is a problem.

Officials with the Conflict Resolution Center say petty offenses can follow someone their entire lives and they shouldn't.

Janet Kennedy, a volunteer for the center, and Annalisa Peterson, Director for the Duluth Program for the center, visited FOX 21 to talk about the issue.

They say the perception needs to change about what it means to be a criminal.

So, an event is being held Friday, September 30 to start the conversation.

It will be at the Duluth Denfeld Auditorium from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
