DULUTH, Minn. -

An annual tradition 41 years in the making continues in Duluth.

To raucous cheers and the clinking of glass mugs, Duluth Mayor Emily Larson taps the ceremonial keg, and Oktoberfest at Grandma’s Saloon officially begins.

Beer, food, music, the restaurant will have all the makings of a traditional German Oktoberfest.

Grandma’s President Brian Daugherty says this is the moment he looks forward to every fall.

“I smile immediately,” Daugherty said. “You can’t come to an Oktoberfest without being affected by the energy and the music and the people.”

Oktoberfest will continue at Grandma’s until Sunday.

They’ll have some of the German food selections on their menu for two weeks after that.
