DULUTH, Minn. -

Temperatures are dropping, which means it’s time to prepare your cars for winter.

Many car shops offer package deals on pre-winterization checkups that include things like checking the tires, coolant and battery.

"The coolant is also what provides the heat in the vehicle so if you have poor coolant you’re probably not going to get the optimum level of heat in the cabin of the vehicle to keep you warm," said Gavin Aker, the Manager at Allstar Service and Accessories.

Putting on Winter tires will also help with traction on slick and icy roads.
