DULUTH, Minn. -

Many Northlanders came out to enjoy the biggest slip–and–slide ever to hit Duluth asphalt.

The event was called slide the city and it is a family friendly water party.

There was live music, food, and drinks. It took place on 12th Avenue and Superior Street.

Slide the City is partnering with the Duluth firefighters local 101 to raise money for the firefighters' operation Warm Campaign that provides new winter jackets to Duluth children in need.

Tyler Whelan, the Slide Manager, said "We travel, we are here in Duluth. It has been a great day so it's a good time."

Officials say, they are hoping to raise $6,000 for children in need.
