DULUTH, Minn. -

Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank is kicking off its first ever Great American Milk Drive.

One in six children living in the Northland face hunger and now Super One foods is partnering with Second Harvest to address the growing concern.

The Great American Milk Drive will take place the month of October to give milk to families in need.

Super One food stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan will offer shoppers an opportunity to donate one to five dollars at the register to go to families in need.

Shaye Moris, the Executive Director of Second Harvest, said "October is a good time of year. It's before the holidays so October is a good month to raise awareness of that."

Nationally, more than 625,000 gallons of milk have been delivered to families across the country through this program.
