DULUTH, Minn. -

Workers from across the state are in Duluth for the Minnesota American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization Convention that started Sunday.

Hundreds of Union representatives are attending the event to hear from elected officials including Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and other labor-endorsed Candidates. Topics included the upcoming election, and organizing to improve working conditions for workers.

"This region has the 2nd highest union density in the country. We’re proud of that fact, and we want to make sure that the union movement in Minnesota continues to grow, and working families and working people have a voice," said Craig Olson, the President of Duluth Building and Construction Trades Council.

The convention wraps up on Tuesday.
