DULUTH, Minn. -

Community Members had the chance to meet Peanut and Elsa, 2 miniature horses that help educate kids about animals, and how to care for them.

The miniature horses are part of the Windchill legacy program. Windchill Legacy brings the horses to schools and introduces them to kids. It’s all part of an effort to help educate children on how to treat animals with respect.

"By teaching children how to properly care for animals, we hope to help abuse and neglect be diminished," said Executive Director, Polly Niemi.

Windchill Legacy also works with state legislators to improve and clarify animal abuse and neglect state statutes.
