DULUTH, Minn. -

As winter approaches, charter fishing boat season is starting to wind down. However, there is still enough time to get out and fish on Lake Superior.

The charter fishing season typically runs from early May through early October.

The number of anglers starts to go down after Labor Day, but there is plenty of fishing to be had until the season's end.

"It's easier to get a charter because we're not as busy and the fishing is just as good if not better than the middle of the summer," said Captain John Dahl.

2016 has been a very busy season for charter fishing so far.
