Nearly three years after funding for the construction of dock c and d in Duluth was accepted the project is finally complete.

The new port has cost $17.7 million dollars with a majority of the redevelopment project funded, in part, by a $10 million dollar transportation infrastructure generation economic recovery grant or (tiger) awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. With the port up and running, the new dock is a huge asset to our local economy.

" it really sets the next 50 years for the working water front down here and I’ve stressed that with everybody I’ve talked to the cool republic terminal which is where you are today started in 1958–1960's this dock is an example of that," says Vanta Coda, Executive Director, Duluth Seaway Authority

The port supplies over 11 thousand and is critically important to our community; the new docks will continue to support that for years to come.
