For the past two nights the Duluth Curling Club has opened its doors to the public for a “Learn to Curl” clinic. It's a chance to learn about the sport, which involves brain power and a lot of touch.
“The strategy maybe similar to bocce ball, some people call it chess on ice. People call it shuffle board, but it's a long ways from shuffle board. I always think of it as throwing a frisbee, got a lot of touch, got a lot of touch to the game,” said Phil Devore, an instructor with the Duluth Curling Club.
The club will hold one more free event Wednesday night for the public, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DECC.
